The Light Night Leeds 2018 event is taking place on the 4th and 5th of October. We cannot wait for the light festival to begin. Light Night is one of the UK’s largest annual arts and light festivals, and over two special nights some of Leeds’ most recognisable indoor and outdoor spaces will be transformed by spectacular artworks and captivating performances by local, national and international artists.
Starting in 2005, the event has grown year on year and in 2017 was enjoyed by around 80,000 local, national and international visitors. To celebrate this fantastic festival, and its holistic ability to unite a community through a cultural explosion of lights and art, we are running a special #artinthedark focus day on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
We pride ourselves on our inclusivity as all attractions are free entry and we always aim to incorporate as many of the local landmarks as possible into the event. This year we would like to also engage with artists working or that have worked with the festival recently and see if we can create a viral social media event. Therefore, we would like to invite you to join us in this celebration. The idea would be for you to share images of your work that has been exhibited at Light Night Leeds, tag Light Night Leeds in and use #artinthedark on 1st of October all day.
We will retweet everyone taking part, and will be encouraging our followers to look at all the incredible images being shared, as well as to share their own favourites.
We’ll also put together a #LightNightLeeds2018 Twitter Moment to showcase all the items for our Twitter followers, as well as an Instagram Story Highlight for those joining on this platform.
